24 Oct Senior High School Students Join CEAP Youth Camp
Students of the University of the Assumption Senior High School joined the 450-strong youth from different Catholic schools in Central Luzon in the Catholic Education Association of the Philippines Region III Second Youth Camp on October 18-19, 2019.
Newly-elected CEAP President Fr. Elmer G. Dizon opened the two-day event with an encouragement for the participants to engage in mission. “Communion and service transform the world and (the) youth camp is an experience of the transformed world,” he said.
UASHS was represented by Iñigo Diala, Jihad Samm Baunta, Mark Blas Bandula, Jared Ezekiel Manio, Harvey Patawaran and Yno Czar Gabriel N. Angeles. They were accompanied by teachers Ms. Nadyn Nicole Sagum and Ms. Renalyn Guiriba.
Among the activities were plenary sessions, group discussions, concert, socialization and community immersion. Speakers for the plenary sessions were Miguel Magtibay, Christine Adelle Puyaoan, and Karlo Morbida.
Rev. Fr. Michael Feliciano Veneracion and Rev. Fr. Joseph Alarcon presided in the Eucharistic celebration. In his homily, Fr. Veneracion exhorted the youth to share their blessedness, including to those coming from other faith tradition. “Catholic means all-embracing. We must embrace other’s faith,” he said.
The youth camp was held in the College of the Immaculate Conception in Cabanatuan City and was hosted by the Diocese of Cabanatuan in Nueva Ecija.
CEAP – Region III is composed of the Prelature of Infanta in Aurora, Diocese of San Jose in Nueva Ecija, Diocese of Cabanatuan in Nueva Ecija, Diocese of Malolos in Bulacan, Diocese of Iba in Zambales, Diocese of Balanga in Bataan, Diocese of Tarlac, and the Archdiocese of San Fernando in Pampanga.
