Leaders Gather for Religare 2019

Student-leaders and teachers from various universities and schools in Central Luzon gathered at the University of the Assumption (UA) for the 14 th Annual Religare and 10 th Student Congress on September 13-15.

This year’s theme was “Surpassing Limitations through Boundless Connections”. Lectures, workshops and team building activities were held to establish solidarity among the student-leaders in Region III and enhance their leadership skills.

Among the resource speakers were Mr. Jericho Arceo, online content creator and a Kapampangan
vlogger; Father Christopher Jeffrey Aytona, the national Adviser of the Dominican Youth Group; and Mr. Nielsen Ocampo, UA alumnus, one of the Top Ten Outstanding Students in the Philippines and founder of the Rotaract Club of Central Pampanga.

Arceo shared his triumphs and struggles as an online influencer. He said that that to be a good leader, one must also be a good servant not only to people but most importantly to God.

Meanwhile, UA Vice President for Administration Fr. Victor Nicdao, in his opening message, spoke of the challenges that young leaders are facing today.

“Most of our young people today are simply self-absorbed and locked in their own universe. It is therefore a breath of fresh air that our young leaders who have gathered for this year’s Religare have chosen to underscore the importance of solidarity that links and connect us,” said Nicdao.

The three-day leaders’congress was organized by the UA Central Student Council.
