In its effort to extend its mission of developing Catholic leaders to international students, University of the Assumption signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Wyith Institute of HongKong on June 27, 2019.
Under the agreement, students from various countries backed up by Wyith Institute will be enrolled in different academic programs at UA to earn their undergraduate degrees.
Dr. Dexter Balajadia, Director of the Office of Linkages and International Relations (OLIR) said that UA will be initially admitting students coming from India, Vietnam, and Greater China through Wyith.
“Wyith is a global organization of academicians. The enrolees that they will bring to our University will be mixed and diversified. Aside from taking academic courses, we will be taking them to immersions. We shall also provide adaptation programs for them to at least understand basic Kapampangan and Filipino,” said Balajadia.
Balajadia also added that the University is eyeing for more student exchange programs with various institutions. “Now for our UA students, we will be meeting with other universities and institutes so that we can as well send them to immersions and trainings, both locally and internationally,” he said.
Prior to the student mobility program, UA and Wyith had also collaborated on a research project in HongKong earlier this year.
