11 Oct Coffee Shop opens at UA
The University of the Assumption opened a new hangout place in the campus where students, employees, and guests can relax and enjoy sumptuous foods and drinks.
The Café Maria, which was launched in August of this year, is the newest go-to place for Assumptionists who want to chill out or take a break from the day’s work. The coffeeshop offers a variety of snacks from sandwiches, waffles, pasta and rice meals, to freshly brewed coffee, frappes and delicious milkshakes at reasonable prices.
“We wanted to serve good quality food and beverages to our customers at a very affordable price specially since most of our patrons are students,” said Ms. Donna Marie Simbulan, Café manager.
Aside from being a mere coffee shop catering to members of the UA community, Café Maria also serves as a training facility for the hospitality students of UA. “Café Maria was opened to serve as a training ground for hospitality students, to expose them to the real operations in the industry” said Ms. Simbulan.
She also added an all-Assumptionist kitchen staff and service crew man the coffee shop operations.
