23 Nov UA to Offer Bachelor of Library and Information Science Program Next Academic Year
University of the Assumption has been granted permission by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to offerBachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS)in academic year 2018-2019.
According to Dr. Joey Suba, dean of CCSIT the program is suitable for students who are interested in the information systems and library operations.“This program is timely. Many companies and corporations need people who could provide support in library and information management,” he said.
He also mentioned thatthe demand for library and information personnel apply not only in schools but also in various fields such as in law and medical services.
According to Dr. Suba, “BLIS is an interesting program especially for those who have keen interest in both education and information technology.”“ And even if our graduates will not be pursuing librarianship, they are qualified in teaching positions and other related careers once they have finished the program.” he stressed.
Bachelor of Library and Information Science will be under the College of Computing Sciences and
Information Technology (CCSIT).
