UA VPF is Ateneo-Regis MBA Program Gold Medalist

University of the Assumption Vice-president for Finance Mrs. Belina S.Katigbak successfully earned her Master in Business Administration from Ateneo Graduate School of Business through the Ateneo-Regis Executive MBA program. She is one of the gold medalists in her batch who graduated on October 8, 2017.

The Ateneo-Regis Gold medal award isgiven to graduate school students who completed all the requirements for graduation and earned a cumulative QPI of at least 3.75..

According to Katigbak, she always had a passion for excellence which inspired her to study hard and aim for the honor, “I will only do this once in my life, so I might as well do it excellently,” she said.

Katigbak graduated at UA with a degree in BS Commerce major in Accounting in 1979. She was the Magna cum Laude awardee of her batch..

The VPF also shared why she decided to continue her studies saying that it was “God’s plan and will” for her to be able to serve better the community and the institution.

“In one of the letters of St. Paul, he said, ‘God does not call the qualified, but he qualifies those whom he calls’.Entering the MBA program was God’s way of qualifying me for this position (as VPF). So He gave me the grace to perform my duty as a Vice-President for Finance because He knows my heart that would like to do something to serve Him,” said Katigbak.

She mentioned that finishing her studies at the age of 59 was not easy . She had to attend to her work and to her family, especially the medical needs of her husband, while striving to meet the requirements of the program.

Katigbak wanted to inspire young people to never stop studying despite trials. “No matter how poor you are, it should never be a hindrance to education. Young people should continue learning. You’ll be amazed to where education may bring you,” she added.
