06 Oct UA CpE Wins 1st Runner-Up in Engineering Quiz Tilt
University of the Assumption’s computer engineering students bagged the 1 st runner-up title in the Region III CpE (Computer Engineering) Challenge: Quiz Bowl held at Malolos City, Bulacan on September 23, 2017.
Arvee Domingo, John Matthew Capulong, and John Gabriel M. Paguinto – all BS CpE 5 th year students-finished second against student competitors from public and private schools in Central Luzon.
According to Mr. Jhastin Karl Puyat, coach and faculty member at the UA College of Engineering and Architecture, the students performed well during the competition. “We are 1 st runner-up in the region and number one among the universities in Pampanga which also joined the contest, we have also been 1st runner-up in two consecutive years now” said Puyat.
Puyat said that joining the contest helps the students to practice the theories they learned in school.
“We take pride in our students for doing their best in the competition despite their school works. It is also a good platform to show that UA offers quality education,” he added.
Among the topics included in the CpE quiz bowl were general knowledge on the various subjects in CpE, problem sets and scenario-based questionnaires.
The CpE Challenge was organized by the Institute of Computer Engineers of the Philippines Region III.
