
28 Sep UA BSTM Students Hold Tourism Day Event
The College of Tourism Management of the University of the Assumption, together with the League of Tourism Students of the Philippines – UA Chapter, celebrated World Tourism Day on September 26, 2017.
The theme of the celebration was “Sustainable Tourism: A Tool for Development”. Its primary objective was to highlight the social, cultural, and economic value of tourism and to promote awareness on the various festivals, cuisines, and destinations of local and international destinations.
Booths were set up at the St. Thomas Aquinas Courtyard to exhibit different attractions and traditions of some significant regions in various parts of the world. Students wore diverse national costumes which made the celebration more lively and interesting. Students competed in various events such as singing, dancing, spoken poetry and Mr. and Ms Ecotourism.
