15 Feb UA Conducts Mass Baptism for Adopted Community
What better gift can we give to a child than to help initiate him or her to Christianity through the Sacrament of Baptism.
Ten (10) infants from San Jose Matulid in Mexico, Pampanga received the Sacrament of Baptism through the efforts of students from the UA College of Hospitality and Restaurant Management, in cooperation with the Outreach Ministry Office, on February 10, 2017.
Fr. Pete Valencia of San Jose Parish officiated the rite of baptism. This was followed by the reception which was organized and funded by the students. “We knew that some of the parents were financially incapable to prepare even a simple feast to celebrate the baptism of their children,” said Ms. JovieBondoc, Council of Hotel and Restaurant Management Students (CHARMS) adviser. So the students took over to help them get through it and have a memorable family experience.

The baptism ceremony held at the San Jose Parish Church, CSFP was graced by the families and godparents of the ten infants ages 0-11 months old.
The event was organized to give the students actual experience in events management. It was also an opportunity for them to reach out to others which is an important element of the UA mission.
In recent years, HRM students also took the lead in organizing mass weddings for poor unmarried couples.
San Jose Matulid is an adopted barangay of UA.
