14 Nov Bacani Facilitates Retreat for UA Community
From the members of the executive committee up to the faculty members and support personnel, the whole UA workforce attended a retreat to take a respite from their usual daily routine, and recharge their spirit at the UA Chapel on October 26 and 27.
Facilitated by Bishop Teodoro Bacani, the two-day retreat focused on the discussion of attaining a joyful life, more so, of God’s abundance and love to mankind.
Bacani expounded in his talk that the humankind must give back to God a “total, undivided, unsurpassed, unrivaled, all-inclusive type of love” to be able to experience and live a life of abundance. He also told the participants that the secret of happiness lies in building the right relationships. Already retired from his official work in the diocese and despite his age, Bishop Bacani is a living witness of what he shared during the retreat. His 2-day talk was filled with humor and wit.
Bacani wrapped up the first day of the retreat session leaving the delegates with the following acronyms as reminder in building the right relationship with God, neighbor and the world:
UNLAD: Unahin Natin Lagi Ang Diyos
KAMPI: Kapwa Ay Mahalin Paglingkuran at Ingatan
MAPA: Mundo Ay Paunlarin at Alagaan
Some activities were also held during the retreat including the “Harana Kay Maria”, a ceremonial singing of praise offered to the Blessed Virgin Mary; and the celebration of the Eucharist. Moreover, food fellowships took place after every retreat session.
Sister Marissa Figueroa of the UA Campus Ministry Office mentioned during the sharing that the this kind of activity is essential for the employees and staff to take a step back from work, unite with their colleagues and have a time to connect and reflect with God.
The annual retreat is organized by the Campus Ministry Office and the Human Resource and Development Office.
