Christian Dave David and Diana Vital Yumul were crowned as Mr. and Ms. World Tourism 2016 in the gathering of tourism students in Mabalacat City to celebrate World Tourism Day on September 27, 2016. David and Yumul are taking up Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management.

David also won the Best in Formal Wear Award while Yumul was declared Ms. Photogenic, Best in Creative Attire, Best in Corporate Attire, Organizer’s Choice and Best in Long Gown.

Mr. Toni Legaspi, trainer and manager of the two, said that the attributes of the Assumptionists are really showing wherever they go including competitions such as the Mr. and Ms. World Tourism.

Meanwhile, Gian Carlo Magno also bagged the gold award for his entry in the scenic photography contest which was also part of the celebration.

“We are so proud of their achievements,” said Ms. Aliah Amor Uy, program chairperson of the CTM.

According to Uy, since the theme of the event is “Tourism for All: Promoting Universal Accessibility”, the winners could serve as inspirations in promoting equality and a discrimination-free tourism for everyone.

The event was participated by tourism students from different colleges and universities in Pampanga, Subic, and Tarlac.
