27 Sep New Research Papers Published in International Journals
In line with the strengthening of research culture in the University of the Assumption (UA), several papers were published recently in different international journals. These are:
1. “Jesus Christ in the Post-Modern University” by Mr. Fernando Lopena Jr., professor in the Institute of Theology and Religious Studies, which was published in the Journal of Cultural and Religious Studies, October 2015;
2. “3crypt: A Developmental Tool for Complex Encrypting and Decrypting of Data” by the College of Computing Sciences and Information Technology (CCSIT) Dean Dr. Joey Suba and Professor Dr. Grace Sadac published in the Journal of Teaching and Education, Volume 5;
3. “Suffering and the Empowering Grace of the Lord” by VP for Administration Father Victor S. Nicdao published in Concilium, July 2016;

4. “An assessment on the existing program offerings of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) : A route to global competitiveness” by Ms. Jocelyn Arrozal of the School of Arts and Sciences was printed in the Journal of Modern Education Review vol.5 , Number 6 , June 2015 ;
5. “Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR): Does it reach Philippine Campuses?” and “FOI Bill at daybreak: Is there hope for its green light in the Philippines?” by Dr. Melanie V. Briones of the School of Arts and Sciences published in the Journal of Modern Education Review vol.5 , Number 6 , June 2015;
6. “Gauging the ICT-based Teaching Readiness of Pre-service Teachers in the Light of the 21st Century Education” by College of Education Dean Dr. Dexter Balajadia was published in People: International Journal of Social Sciences Special Issue of 2015
Currently, UA College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA) is involved in a community extension service program with the Social Action Center of Pampanga in efforts to develop a project advocating low-cost housing, greener architecture and technology.

Through research, members of the academe are given the opportunity to employ their expertise in discovering new knowledge that will hasten the learning process.
Dr. Arnel Sicat, Director of UA Research and Planning Office, explained that teachers, particularly in college, should be able to produce knowledge in their field of discipline to be able to teach efficiently.
