UA Reps Bag Awards in Milo Sporting Event

University of the Assumption (UA) athletes brought home major awards from the Milo Little Olympics North-Central Luzon leg held in Baguio City on September 2-4, 2016.

The badminton team overpowered their opponents and was declared champion. It was composed of Sean Dela Cruz, Mark Louise Garcia and Juan Miguel Guidote of UA Junior High School (UA-JHS) and Christian Lloyd Garcia of UA Senior High School (UA-SHS). Their coach was Mr. Ronald Allan Mandap.

In taekwondo, Mark Eledir David, Angelo Gabriel Davide, Rhoderick Nikolas Reyes and James de Dios Jr. won silver medals while Diego Silang Elano and Yshianna Daphne Punzalan were bronze medal winners. Mr. Dauphin Punzalan was the coach of the team.

The event was joined by some 8,000 athletes from public and private schools in Regions I, II, III and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) who competed in fifteen different sporting events.

UA President Fr. Joselito C. Henson expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the coaches and athletes in a fete he hosted for them on September 9, 2016. Also present during the meeting were the Vice President for Administration Fr. Victor S. Nicdao, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Mediatriz D. Martin, Vice President for Finance Mrs. Belina S. Katigbak, UASHS Principal Dr. Violy Fernanda Santos, UAJHS Principal Ms. Edita Sagmit, QMO Director Ms. Khriselle Castillo and Mr. Tony Legaspi.

The champions will be advancing to the national finals in their respective events of the Milo Little Olympics.
