22 Aug UA and MOKSA Sign Collective Bargaining Agreement
The administration and employees’ union of the University of the Assumption signed a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) after the Mass held for the feast of the assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on August 22, 2016. The celebration and CBA signing was originally scheduled on August 15. It was postponed due to the suspension of classes on August 15 to 18 because of the heavy rainfall caused by southwest monsoon which flooded low lying areas in the province.
University President Fr. Joselito C. Henson signed on behalf of UA while Mr. Joel Gamboa, president of Malayang Organisasyon ng mga Kawani Sa Assumption (MOKSA) signed for the members of the union. The agreement was decided after three (3) meetings.
Fr. Henson, in his message during the Mass, thanked the union officers and members for the immediate approval of the agreement. He said, “this shows the existing mutual trust between management and the union”.
The UA management panel was composed of Human Resource Director Mr. Rogelio Eco Jr. as Head, Quality Management Director Ms. Khriselle Anne Castillo, Student Affairs Director Ms. Precious Bernadette Estrada, High School Princiapl Ms. Edita Sagmit, Grade School Principal Ms. Ma. Jennifer Gonzales and Physical Plant Director Architect Bernard Valencia.
MOKSA panel was headed by Mr. Gamboa the union president, Mr. Antonino Diaz, Ms. Ruth Intal, Ms. Melanie Junio, Ms., Dolores Mallari and Mr. Arnold Yumul.
