UACSC Welcomes Assumptionists

College students were treated to a grand welcome on June 6, 2016.

“Kick Start Celebration” was organized by the University of the Assumption Central Student Council (UACSC) in lieu of the annual welcome rite for college freshmen. There are no first year college students this year because of the implementation of the senior high school program.

Kick-start is defined by Macmillan Dictionary as “to make something improve or become more active after it has stopped or slowed down”.

With the theme, “Rise Up, Start Fresh”, UACSC hopes that by starting the academic year with a fun-filled gathering, students will be inspired to be more active in all aspects of their campus life in the new academic year.

In his welcome remarks, University President Fr. Joselito C. Henson encouraged the students to study well, pray and reach out and wished them a “challenging new academic year”.

In response to the invitation of the University President, officers of the recognized student organizations led the studentry in renewing their commitment to become Assumptionists who are globally competent, morally upright and socially responsible.

The UA Performing Arts and the UA Junior High School Pep-Squad provided the entertainment while the college-based organizations gave away food and various treats in their respective booths.
