UA Beats National Passing Rates Again in the March 2016 LET

The UA College of Education (COE) beat the national passing rates in the March 2016 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) in the elementary and secondary levels.

According to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Board for Professional Teachers (BPT), among the UA graduates who took the LET, 33.33% passed the exam for elementary teachers and 66.67% for secondary teachers. These rates are higher than the national passing percentages at 28.38% and 35.43% for elementary and secondary teachers respectively.

The lone first-time taker among the BEED graduates passed the licensure exam for elementary teachers. Meanwhile, seven (7) of the eleven (11) or 63.64% BSED first-time takers succeeded in the exam for secondary teachers. For the repeaters, 28.57% of the elementary teachers and 68.42% of the secondary teachers passed.

According to Dr. Dexter M. Balajadia, Dean of COE, the annual Simulated LET (S-LET), the LET-patterned major exams, and the rigid instruction are the primary factors for the outstanding performance of BEEd and BSEd graduates in the licensure examination. “The LET review helped improve the potentials of our examinees and a more responsive regular instruction and other course-related tasks will push further the success of our graduates in future LET”, he said.

Currently, the COE faculty is implementing the revitalized review program in preparation for the September 2016 LET.
